INSTRUCTIONS TO PATIENTS
   
General Instructions
 
Please bring all your medical reports (MRI, CT, USG, Lab reports and other treatment records)
 
Children and non co-operative adults may need sedation/ anesthesia to prevent movement, which may cause artifacts.
 
In cause of contrast study / sedation/ anesthesia, patient should be kept nil oral for 4 hours prior to scanning.
 
Decision about contrast study can be taken only after completion of plain study.
 
Kindly inform us if you are pregnant
 
To be accompanied by an attender.
     
CT – Abdomen
 
Ideal timing of CT abdomen is early morning with overnight fasting, otherwise 4 hours fasting is needed.
 
Virtual Colonoscopy
 
Overnight fasting
 
Good bowel preparation by PEGLEC (One sachet mixed with 2 liters of water to be consumed 4hrs before the procedure at regular intervals)
 
MRI Studies
 
3hours fasting
 
MRCP
 
Overnight fasting is ideal
 
6 hours nil oral before the procedure is adequate
 
Electric gadgets like mobile phones, watches and other items like credit cares should be left with patients attender before entering the MRI room.
 
Cardiac CT Scan:
 
Bring all your previous medical records.
 
Call and fix appointment
 
Do not take water or food minimum 2 hrs before the test.
 
To be accompanied with an attender.
 
Continue the medication as per your doctor’s advice.
 
Timings: 9.00 AM to 10.00 PM including Sundays.
 
IMPORTANT NOTE – MRI
  Kindly inform us if you possess the following:
 
Cardiac Pacemaker
 
Aneurysm Vascular Clips
 
Intracranial Clips
 
Heart valve prostheses
 
Some types of implanted device with metal (Insulinpumps, Chemo infusion ports)
 
Metallic Fragments in eye (have you been employed as a grinder, machinist or carpenter?)
 
Eye / orbital prosthesis (Metal shank tops / anchor / false eye)
 
Bullets or shrapnel
 
Metal middle and inner ear prosthesis (wing)
 
Fresh postoperative persons with metal clips or wire implanted
 
Any other
